Individual city-states ruled by powerful families, the Dynastic Signoria involves a concentration of power in a small group of influential individuals known as the signori. These individuals, some who were of merchant or banking origins rather than traditional nobility, hold both executive and legislative authority, effectively monopolizing control over their respective cities. They aim to maintain their power at all costs, often resulting in bloody feuds and conflicts between and within houses as they struggle for supremacy.
