Three-decker
Three-deckers were warships that held three fully-armed decks with guns. Other guns could also be carried additionally on the forecastle or the quarterdeck, but only the batteries of the three main decks formed a continuous battery. Three-deckers were considered ships of the line, that is strong enough to participate in the line of battle.
