Legalism
The theories behind Legalism have been integral to Chinese society for hundreds of years. The concept that strict laws, centralized authority, and bureaucratic efficiency lead to a stable, prosperous state with a powerful army is deeply rooted in many ideologies throughout East Asia.
As merchants and migrants facilitated the exchange of ideas across the world, Legalism entered the vast Muslim sphere, where it became part of the symbiotic relationship between believers and non-Muslim subjects.
In Europe, Legalism emerged from the dying gasps of the Roman Empire. After its decline, its systematic legal codes were adapted and transformed into the foundational jurisprudence for many nations on the continent.
