This type of manorial domination developed under the feudal system and is based on the 'ban', which is the authority of a lord to command his tenants, give them orders, and punish them. This has led to the Nobility having greater power in their domains, since they are the ones who dole out justice within their territories and can also tax the Commoners for most of their economic activities.
