Gustavian Infantry
Gustavus Adolphus, ruler of Sweden, made several innovations to his infantry that improved their performance. His formations were narrowed and made rectangular to increase the number of muskets that could fire in each volley, and the attachment of small artillery pieces further increased their firepower.
