Merindad Division
A Merindad is a geographical-administrative division in the kingdoms of Aragon, Castile, and Navarre. Merindads serve as intermediate administrative bodies between the central authority, the towns, and noble holdings. The head of a Merindad is the Merino, entrusted with administrative and judicial powers over their assigned territory as a representative of the ruler.
