The abundance of copper in Sweden, primarily from the Stora Kopparberget mine in Falun, has prompted the country to use it as the main metal for minting a new national currency, the daler. This is issued as a large money plate, called plåtmynt, which can weigh up to 20 kilograms. Some argue that this might not be very practical and that the volume of money in circulation could exceed copper reserves, but they seem narrow-minded.
