The Court of Balliol was caught by surprise when a French delegation along with the disputed King of the Scottish, David arrived at the court today. Ever since the Battle of Halidon Hill, David has been in exile in France, and while French emissaries have previously attempted to broker a deal in recent times, those negotiations ultimately amounted to nothing. The French delegation this time offers to instead recognize Ruler as the De Facto ruler of Scotland, if Ruler would renounce his support for England and instead embrace French support. In return, they offer the custody of David, which would all but crush his supporters' morale.
