Vidin's Custom Houses
As the trade between the upper Danube and the Black Sea grows, Vidin has become one of the most important custom houses on the Lower Danube, regulating the flow of European luxury goods into the Balkans. By implementing a sophisticated system of tariffs and warehouse laws, the state will be able to fill its coffers without placing a heavy burden on its own agricultural population. This trade-heavy economy will allow Vidin to modernize its infrastructure, building paved roads and stone bridges that connect the Danube to the interior of the Balkan Peninsula.
