The Gibraltar of the Levant
The Palamidi fortress, perched high above the Gulf of Argos, has been expanded into a complex system of seven interlocking forts that command the entire Argolid. By controlling this 'Gibraltar', we dictate the movement of any fleet attempting to supply an army in the Morea, effectively making the lordship unconquerable by land or sea. This strategic dominance allows us to play the role of kingmaker between our neighbours.
