Brig
The brig was a small ship used for trade or war, characterized by having two square-rigged masts. When used for war, they were small vessels with 10 to 18 guns, but it was their speed and maneuverability what made them valuable assets. Their full square rigging also made them more suited when traveling along trade winds, when they would sail downwind for long periods of time.
