A senior member of the 'ulamā' will be given supreme authority to appoint Muftī and interpret Sharī'ah, and also confirm the new rulers of the realm - but there will be no question that regardless of this, our leader still holds higher authority. This policy can be seen as a compromise that ensures state power, while also enshrining the sanctioned faith's role in state affairs.
