The Target Country
The Baltic has been home to piracy since time immemorial. Among the sailors and fishermen of Target Location, there are many who attempt to follow a life of piracy and crime. Among them, Target Character and his band of so-called Likedeelers now fly the black flag across our seas, intending to make themselves rich by robbing all unfortunate enough to encounter them. Some of these scoundrels, the so-called 'Vitalienbrüder', have now seized the island of Gotland and set up their capital in Visby. Their actions have led to a downturn in trade in the area and their continuous piracy will eventually lead to the complete demise of our trade. We need to deal with them before they can entrench themselves on our island.

He led the Vitalienbrüder, a pirate group originally hired as privateers by Dukes of Mecklenburg against Queen Margaret but later turned against their employers. Captured in 1401 near Heligoland, he and his crew were executed in Hamburg. According to legend, he struck a deal: those he could walk past after beheading would be spared. Supposedly, he managed to pass several of his crewmates before the executioner tripped him ignoring the bargain. His name, meaning 'empty the mug in one gulp' reflects his notorious drinking ability.
