Northern Germany is home to many Catholic strongholds, such as the Bishoprics in Münster and Paderborn. Monastic life and associated regional religious traditions have a generally positive effect on the literacy and education of our clergy, as there are plenty of opportunities for them to further educate themselves. This access to learning also helps the Holy Mother Church by creating an intellectual flock well-suited to priestly duties.
