The Universitas Istropolitana
We are at the height of the Humanist movement, meaning that we have a great opportunity to found a university in Bratislava (Academia Istropolitana) to become a magnet for the brightest minds of our era, including scholars from Italy, Poland, and the German states. The curriculum will emphasize the new sciences of astronomy, mathematics, and Roman law, modernizing the state's diplomatic and legal apparatus. This intellectual boom will ensure that the ruling elite are educated in the latest European political philosophies, allowing the state to navigate the complex international relations of the Renaissance with professional skill. The university will also serve as a center for astronomical research, placing the Slovak lands at the forefront of the scientific revolution that is beginning to sweep across the continent.
