School of Alexandria
The Catechetical School of Alexandria, allegedly founded by the Apostle Mark himself, is the oldest school of catechism in the world. There, biblical and theological studies have been taught since the start of Christianity itself. Although the school itself was destroyed when the Bishop of Rome was declared to be above the Patriarch of Alexandria, its tradition has endured.
