Strongholds of the Atlas
The mountain ranges that occupy most part of our country — the various parts of the Atlas and the Rif — are the reason no empire has ever truly conquered Morocco. Our Amazigh mountain clans have been defendeding these passes since the times when Roman armies first marhced through them, and our knowledge of every track and refuge remains unmatched. The mountains do not slow us; they protect us.
