Mainzer Königreich
While celebrations on Ash Wednesday are a common occurrence, they hold especially deep roots in our country. While the public celebrates the Fastnacht, or carnival, with masquerade and excessive feasts, our court will engage in a special event. During the carnival celebrations, we will redistribute the roles of our court per lottery, with even the ruler having to participate. This custom of swapping roles, called Mainzer Königreich, will spread far beyond our borders and help expand our cultural legacy.
