This symbiotic relationship allows Karvuna to punch far above its weight in land battles, utilizing Western tactical innovations and professional discipline to defend its coastal strip while the native Bulgarian sailors dominate the waves, effectively outsourcing its land defense to the most skilled mercenaries in the Mediterranean.
