As one of the most prosperous regions on the continents, much of the wealth we have created naturally flows toward artistic patronage. Flemish merchants commission master painters to create art that, while perhaps not practical, casts light over even the cloudiest of days. With dozens of our merchants actively hiring artists and commissioning new pieces, we are creating a distinctive Renaissance of our own.
