The Bulgarian Gunpowder Foundries
Drawing on the iron mines of the Balkan mountains and the expertise of Saxon miners, we will establish the first major domestic gunpowder industry in the region. These foundries will produce heavy siege cannons and early handguns, allowing the Bulgarian army to transition away from purely feudal cavalry toward a more modern, infantry-heavy force. By controlling the production of saltpeter and iron, we will ensure that our walls remain the most dangerous obstacle for any would-be conqueror in the Balkans.
