Kārimī
For centuries, the Indo-Egyptian trade has been dominated by Egypt-based groups of traders and captains known as the Kārimī. Instrumental in the day-to-day business of Indian Ocean trade, this merchant organization is now both wealthy and powerful. From the Tamil coasts and the ports of the Swahili trading cities to the Lower Egyptian port cities past the Gulf of Aden, sultans, nobles, and commoners alike come to buy exotic goods or borrow money for their projects from the Kārimī.
This organization has lately taken a very active interest in our state, and we only stand to gain from cultivating our relationship with them further.
