Since the merger of between us and the County of Barcelona in 1164, Aragon has functioned as a Confederation, comprising distinct realms under a central ruler. These differences have fostered prosperity and maintained individual identities, yet have also given rise to an illusion of disunity. This has led to the need for administrative reforms to strengthen our union while honoring the unique characteristics of each territory.
