Researching an Advance takes time, and a Country can only research one advance at a time. We get the benefit of the advance when our Research Progress reaches the cost of the advance.
The speed at which we progress towards new advances with icon depends mainly on the power of our liturgical language with icon, the average literacy with icon of our pops with icon, the Estate Satisfaction of our Clergy, and the number of institutions with icon we have Embraced.
