Centuries ago, the land of the Rus' was united under a single banner and ruled from the legendary city of Kyiv. But the Mongol hordes advanced from the great steppe, pillaging and burning as they went. Even great Kyiv itself could not avoid this fate. In terror, our people fled north into the hinterlands we today call Russia.
Now a new, arrogant northern city is on the rise. Its ruler envisions a new Rus' — A Rus' centered in Moscow and not Kyiv. But we Ruthenians will not allow pretenders to claim the legacy of our forefathers! Kyiv shall rise once again, and so too shall the Rus'!
