Signoria Council
The Signoria of Florence is the name of the council of nine that governs the city, its members taken from the different guilds. Every two months, a lottery is held to reelect the council members. This constant shuffling ensures that the interests of the Republic prevail over personal ones. The fact all its members come from the guilds, though, makes it so that the same families are always the ones in charge.
