The people of the Nepal area are of diverse origins and heritages. While the Gurung and Tamang have their roots in China and Tibet, the Khas and Kumaoni hail from the Indian subcontinent. Nonetheless, the variety of cultures of Nepal claim the Himalayas as their home.
