Quipu
A system which uses knots on a string to store information, do accounting, and perform other informational tasks. Each knot represents a number from zero to nine. The knots can also be used to refer to logograms on the same string. The knots show which syllable in the logogram to use, and by combining more strings, sentences can be formed.
