南北朝时代
镰仓幕府倒台后，尊治在尊氏的协助下短暂地复古王政，史称“建武维新”，并希望在此基础上将天皇的权威恢复到平安时代，然而，him/her因此招致了武士阶层的强烈不满，双方的政治联盟很快宣告破裂。在双方的斗争中，尊氏被短暂地赶出京都并流亡九州岛，但最终在1336年反攻京都，并在him/her的主持下开设了新的日本幕府，拥立了一位新天皇。1337年正月，尊治出走吉野，建立了南朝朝廷。开启了史称南北朝时代的分裂时期。
