Target Culture People in the Target Country
Conquest always brings new people into our fold. For the Target Culture people, honorable fighters of the Caucasus, fate devised their downfall at the hands of Target Character. As the last of their separatist elements are quelled by various means, the question of what shall be done with their population looms above the heads of Target Character and his/her advisors. 825historical_info = flavor_ira.13.historical_info There had always been interactions between Armenians and Persia, and even the Seljuk brought many Armenian slaves and merchants into Persia. But the Great Surgun or Great Exile was performed by 'Abbās 'the Great' in 1604-1605 during the Ottoman-Saffavid war, and it it hundreds of thousands of Armenians were forcefully deported to Persia. Many Armenian cities were sacked and razed, and most of the deported population died along the route. In Persia they were initially treated well and allowed to flourish, but later also forced to accept Islam, and subjected to discrimination. The depopulated areas were re-settled by different tribes of Turks and Kurds, greatly changing the demographics of the region.
