Seeking to take further action against Jansenist followers, proponents of the Unigenitus have drafted plans for a tax should the Unigenitus become the eventual law of Country. Under this Cinquantième tax, anyone who is discovered reading the Nouvelles Ecclésiastiques (The text of Jansenism) will be forced to pay a sizable tax to the state. Furthermore, any religious figures who were previously exempted but have ties to Jansenism will be forced to take up the tax as well.
Such a tax would likely be seen as extremely detrimental should the Unigenitus bull come into law, as the followers of Jansenism will retain great disdain for the Flavor Rank.
