As our society evolves away from the values of community-held judgment, courts filled with ordinary people are slowly being replaced with legal professionals. While in times past justice was delivered based on the customs and traditions of a community, and the wisdom of its most important members, an increased awareness of an individual's rights has led to an increase in judges acting on behalf of the Crown to mediate disputes.
While this change ensures that justice is better standardized across the Flavor Rank, it has led communities to become detached from the process, yearning for the days when justice was a responsibility that the whole town shared.
