Tensions Between the Nobility and the Clergy
In our nation, two groups hold great power: the Nobility and the Clergy. However, they do not always get along. Recently, Nobility in Bicker and the local monasteries near their fiefs began bickering about who owns a rather large piece of land.
These days, the Country Adjective Court Title is swamped with people yammering about divine right - the Nobility claiming their divine right to rule the land and the Clergy asserting their position as the representatives of God on Earth. The whole situation is growing rather unstable, with the Nobility in question inciting the other Nobility against the Clergy and questioning their right to hold any sort of temporal property. The prior of the monasteries has brought in high ranking memebers of the Clergy on their side, who in turn threaten to go straight to Rome should we decide to side with the Nobility. As such, we are now stuck in quite the difficult position.
