The Right to Send a Proxy
Not every member of the Parliament can always be present in person — wars, illness, and the considerable distances between Country's estates ensure that. The Nobility have asked that their absent members be permitted to send proxies with full voting rights. It is a sensible arrangement from their perspective. The crown sees it rather differently. A parliament of proxies is a parliament that cannot quite be pressed or persuaded the way a room full of actual people can be. We must decide what kind of institution we want the Parliament to be.
