Madrasa, meaning 'A place where learning and studying is done', teaches tafsīr or Qur'ān interpretation, Sharī'ah or Islamic law, hadiths or recorded sayings and deeds of Prophet Muḥammad, peace be upon him, and manṭiq or logic. Some Madrasa also teach mathematics, astronomy, astrology, geography, alchemy, philosophy, magic, and occultism.
