The New Tactics on the Battlefield
In the crucible of our ongoing conflict, our time-honored tactics have encountered a formidable challenge. The infamous Pike and Shot formation has made its presence felt on the battlefield. This innovative strategy entails the deployment of soldiers bearing pikes to create a defense against melee combatants, shielding their comrades armed with arquebuses. These shooters use said protection to reload their weapons and attack enemies at a distance.
While some of our Court Title lack the foresight to recognize the use of this new strategy, others in our military are more than intrigued to investigate and develop their own form of the Pike and Shot. However, they will require a place to train their troops, and while they have chosen Target Location as their training field, the Nobility have voiced its dislike for investing in a 'pointless fashion on the battlefield.'
