Treaty of Pavia
While the dynastic treaty signed in 1329 in Pavia did stabilize our dynastic relations, the position of Target Ruler has improved since then and we could now try to increase our authority over Target Character and Rhine. This would brand us as an untrustworthy ally and a tyrannical leader of the Holy Roman Empire. Honoring the treaty would preserve our diplomatic standing and reputation and enable us to unify the branches of the Target Ruler Dynasty Dynasty peacefully in the future.

In addition to the split between the two branches, the treaty also attempted to solve the question of the Electorship. While the initial rule was an alternation of the electorate between the Palatinate and the Duchy of Upper Bavaria the role of elector was later confirmed to stay with the Palatinate of the Rhine. The Treaty also included an agreement that either dynastic line would fall into the hands of other if the current ruler had no direct male heirs.
