Recent political pressures have brought to light the stark fact that the administration of this country is in shambles. The most powerful members of the Court Title have now come together to determine our path forward: submit to absolute rule, or force our ruler to seek judgment from the Parliament before making any rulings. 665historical_info = flavor_swe.13.historical_info After the disastrous war of 1674-79, which Sweden was more or less forced into by France, Charles XI and broad layers of the Swedish administration realized that something had to change. The King, in two surprisingly painless Parliament sessions in 1680 and 1682, assumed sole control of the country with no obligation to heed either Parliament or the Royal Council. Thus began the period of Caroline absolutism in Sweden, with the king called 'the Graycoat' for his humility and simple habits, answerable only to God.
