The Statute of Piotrków
The Nobility have petitioned for the codification of their privileges in law, citing the need to maintain social order and the defense of the Flavor Rank. The Statutes of Piotrkow would limit the power of townsfolk and bind the Commoners to the land, forbidding them to leave without the consent of the Nobility. Such a set of statutes will certainly cement their growing influence, and may yet pave the way for further eroding what central authority we have left.

In 1496 the Statute of Piotrków was instituted. It implied that serfdom was strengthened and accepted in law. It forbade all workers to move from their villages, except one every year. It later was extended with a work duty of six days a week. At this point, the peasants of Poland had lost not only all power but also their freedom. The power lay in the hands of the Nobility.
