In 1347, the Duke Magnus I of Brunswick-Lüneburg sold the Margraviate that he inherited after his marriage with Sophia of Brandenburg-Stendal, Margrave of Landsberg, back to Margrave Frederick II of Meissen, reuniting the Wettin lands again.
