Adopting a New Identity
Though for many of us, our Jurchen ancestry is our pride, it cannot be disputed that for the establishment of the Country Adjective Middle Kingdom, our past as Chinese subjects is one of much shame. As such, it has been proposed to do away with that history, instead adopting a new identity as the Manchu.
