The Reforms of Target Ruler
Our most enlightened Ruler Title is not pleased with the current laws of Country. Loosely based on the principles of the Enlightenment, he/she has decreed a large change in policy regarding nearly all civil concerns. While some voices in our Court Title advise the Ruler Title to choose a less radical and fast approach to reform, only time will tell if these concerns are more than reactionary fear-mongering.

While she took a conservative approach to not upset the aristocracy, her son Josef II pushed for more radical ideas after he started his co-rulership together with his mother in 1765. Although his ideas aimed at a rapid change towards an enlightened absolutism, he was met with fierce resistance in all parts of the Austrian population.
