Once one of the many Capet realms, the Capet rule over Naples has long since ended and with the current rule of Ruler Nap, the Neapolitan Naples Flavor Rank is not without enemies. While Ruler Fra Capet roots allow him/her to claim the Naples through past dynastic ties, it would remain rather weak. However, the unpopular rule of Ruler Nap presents the opportunity for the Naples Flavor Rank to be reclaimed.

Though he would never reacquire the crown himself, René continued to style himself King of Naples throughout his life. Louis XII would later use René's claim to invade Naples and establish a personal union. Louis XII's invasion however, would lead to the eventual Italian Wars.
