One of our tributaries, the Target Country, has recently suffered a sudden and disastrous coup. One of their courtiers, Target Character, has taken over the Target Country Flavor Rank and established a new dynasty. We have been rather oblivious to this fact until one of the throne claimaints from the former dynasty, Claimant Character, has arrived in our Court Title seeking support for restoration of the old order.

The coup was followed by a war with the Míng, where the Chinese were able to establish rule in Vietnam under the province of Jiāozhǐ. This occupation lasted until 1428, when the Chinese army was forced to withdraw after years of struggle with Vietnamese Uprisings.
