Song of Armouris
One of the greatest Acritic poems is that of Armouris Armouropoulos. His adventures contain several herculean feats, such as fighting an army of Saracens single-handed for "a day and a night". Although he gets unhorsed in the aftermath, he pursues the one who stole his horse into Syria, on which he cuts off both his arms in the end for theft. Although originally written in the 11th century, much of its contents have been lost. Perhaps now we can try and restore some of its parts, even if they are not exactly accurate.
