The Cathedral of Saint Vitus
Originally constructed in the 10th century, the Cathedral of Saint Vitus is a standing and beautiful symbol of our strength and faith. However, as the splendor of Target Location grows so must our monuments to the divine. Architectural plans have been drafted, workers are to be hired should we decide to go forward with this large undertaking.

1613historical_info = flavor_boh.27.historical_info The cathedral was initially founded in 930 by Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia, as an early Romanesque rotunda. Over time, due to the increasing Christian community and the desire for a larger church, a grander Romanesque basilica was constructed in 1060 by Prince Spytihněv II, incorporating the southern apse of the original rotunda. The cathedral's design drew inspiration from Romanesque architecture in the Holy Roman Empire, particularly from the Hildesheim abbey church and the Speyer Cathedral. The Gothic version of the cathedral started to be constructed in 1344, when Prague became an archbishopric, but the Hussite wars in the 14th century caused construction to stop. Several attempts to continue the construction were made through the centuries, but it wasn't until 1844 when serious work on it started again, and the cathedral wasn't finished until 1929.
