After the creation of the original map, smaller copies, called Bairische Landtafeln, were created and sold by Apian personally in Ingolstadt. His work was only surpassed in the 19th century, and was used to the detriment of Bavaria during the Napoleonic Wars when they were utilized by the French army to invade Bavaria.
