산성
산성은 유사시에 방어적 거점으로 삼을 목적으로 구릉지 상부에 지어진 요새화된 시설로, 석재가 아닌 여러 토벽과 나무 방책을 갖췄습니다. 영주와 그 가신들이 거주하는 공간은 구릉의 기슭에 자리하며, 방어 구조물은 공격을 받았을 때만 사용됩니다. 이러한 산성 중에서도 가장 인상적인 곳은 여러 개의 언덕에 성채를 다수 짓고 그 모두를 흙을 쌓아 만든 통로와 여러 겹의 목책으로 연결해 두기도 했습니다.
