シャクティはヒンドゥー教の主要な女神であり、宇宙の根源的なエネルギーとして崇拝されている。シャクティ派では至高のGoddess、デーヴィーとして崇拝され、多くのほかのGoddessesがシャクティのさまざまな側面を表す存在として崇拝されている。そのなかには多彩な異なる姿をもつ女神もいる。
