The Elected Candidate Refuses
The Conclave procedure is always an arduous one, and the relief of the cardinals once a candidate has been chosen is apparent. However, this time their faces quickly turned to disgust once the voting had concluded and the elected candidate had the gall to refuse the position.
Although candidates have the right to refuse their election, that is not usually put into effect, or at least they have the decency and courtesy to express their intentions before the voting is made. Now the Conclave is forced to start the procedure once again.
